According to the 2010 United States census, the county of Sacramento had a population of 1,418,764. As per the report, its racial makeup was 57.2% White, 15.8% Black or African American, 1.7% Pacific Islander, 14.6% Asian, and 9.4% from other races. People of Hispanic or Latino origin made up 21.7% of the population.
According to the census, there were 453,604 households in the county. Out of this number, 33.8% had children under 18 years living there. 46.9% of the households had married couples living together, and 14.2% had female householders with no husbands present. Besides, 34.6% of the households were non-families, 26.8% were individuals living alone, and 8.4% of them had someone aged above 65 years. The average family size in Sacramento County was 3.24, with the average household size being 2.68.
The census also showed that the population in Sacramento County was spread out. As per the report, 27.8% of the population were under 18 years, 9.7% were aged between 18 and 24 years, 31.8% between 25 to 44 years, 20.5% between 45 to 64 years, and 11.1% were above 65 years.
