The neighborhood of Vermont Square is part of the city of Los Angeles, California, which is located in the Los Angeles-Long Beach-Anaheim metropolitan area.
This part of the city allows home buyers to get around by several alternative modes of transportation. Vermont Square is very suitable for walking; most daily errands can be run without the use of a car, and there are also a fair number of businesses close by. Residents can count on public transit to move around in this area. In particular, property owners have access to about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are typically nearby. Traveling by car is also convenient in Vermont Square. The majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the nearest highway, such as Harbor Freeway.
Both primary and secondary schools are straightforward to access on foot from most houses for sale in Vermont Square. At the elementary level, both public and private schools can be found. Regarding food, a general and a specialty grocery store is always only a very short walk away in Vermont Square. In addition, a restaurant is generally just around the corner, and a limited selection of coffee shops is available as well. It is also a rather short distance to a reasonable variety of clothing stores.
The character of Vermont Square is exemplified by its calm ambience. The noise levels in this part of Los Angeles are reasonably low, as the streets are generally tranquil - although there are still several louder sections, especially around Harbor Freeway. Lastly, it is easy to reach public green spaces since there are a few of them close by for residents to explore.
In Vermont Square, about 45% of dwellings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings, small apartment buildings, and townhouses. This neighborhood also has an excellent choice of unit sizes; it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms. About 60% of the units in the neighborhood are occupied by renters whereas owners occupy the remainder. This part of Los Angeles experienced its largest building boom before the 1960s, so most of the available properties are from this era.
